Snowpiercer or Le Transperceneige

This is a film that I am anxiously awaiting. It is based on a graphic novel trilogy by two French men - Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette. I fell in love with it when I first read this short synopsis:

"Le Transperceneige," is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. People struggling on the train for survival, and a class system evolves on the train and each cabin becomes a class. The ruling class lives in the front cabin, whereas the working class in the back. A revolution takes place and the mass moves toward the front cabin a cabin by cabin.

Awwwww. Dystopia + social stratification - a perfect recipe for me!

These are a few artwork from the film adaptation. It's dark, dark!!

I tried to find a English translation of the novel but it is nonexistent. Alas. But there is a Korean translation and I am going to get one once this semester is over. Now I am relying on Google's image search. I type out French texts in searched images in Google Translate to get rough translations. For the first time, I regret that I chose German for my second foreign language. However, it has been joyous! I will probably keep doing this until the movie comes out this year.
